The vth I was at Bures and dined with Mr. Thomas Waldegrave.

The vjth of september I received a privy seale of x li. the same day Thomas Kedby was arrested.

The xth of september I borrowed iij li. of J. P.

The xijth day of september I first heard of the death of my sister Susanna Cottye who died the ixth day of August last being of the age of 51 yeres 9 monethes and blank dayes.

The same day I did putt vj tenches into my horsepond and xv into the ponde in peryfield and v into the ponde by Adam poddes house.

The xiijth of september Thomas Coe the eldest sonne of Thomas Coe of Boxford gent. my godsonne died of the age of xix yeres and x monethes.

The ixth of september Mr. Dudley Foscue1 did hange him selfe at Mrs. Turnours his wiues mothers house nere Cambridgeshire viz: at Bluntes Hall in litle Wrattinge.2

The xviijth I tooke Phisicke and the xixth and xxth.

The xxjth William Hilles sealed and delivered vnto me an Acquittance for his legacye of x li. that his Father did give vnto him.

The xjth of octobre I was arrested at the suit of Mr. Paul Powle.

The xvjth I was at Hadley Holton3 and dyned at Mr. William Manockes in Stoke.

The 17 I rode with the Wydow Kedby to her brother Peter Friers at Wickham Skeythe.4

The xxth of octobre John Speede came to me for the residue of his granfathers legacye.

The 24 I rode towardes London and retorned the xxxth of the same moneth.

24 Octobre. The same day it was proclaymed that England and Scotland shoulde be called great Brittaine.5

The vth of Novembre my soonne did ryde into Essex with William Forth to Great Stambridge.6

The xjth of November my cosen Adam Winthrop served a subpena on me.

The last of November I rode to Cambridge to keepe the Audit at Trinitie Colledge and I returned the xvth of December.

The xvjth of December Robert Surreys eldest daughter did fall into the fier and burnt her hand and face.

The xxth of December Joseph Coles dogge did bite my Ramme in the necke.

The xxvjth of Decembre Mr. Tasker7 died.

The same day John Priour was bownde with me for iiij yeres by his Father.

The 29 of December my Cosen Humphrey Munnyng came to me and departed home after dynner and within one howre after my Cosen Adam Wynthrop and Mr. John Fulmerston came to me.

The seconde of January I did ryde to Springfild and retourned the viijth therof.

The ixth of January Timothy Coe did stabbe my hog.

The xij of January I delivered a state estate to John Alibaster.

The same day Mr. John Foorth8 came to my house.

The same day John Wayllys9 brake a bone in his neck.

The xiiijth of January Cosen Nathaniel Still came to Groton.

The xvjth day John Wallyes departed out of my service.

The xvth day Josephe Cole and Mary Gale10 were maried betymes in the mornynge.

The xviijth day one of my ewes first brought forth a lamb.

The xxth of January Mr. Thomas Fownes11 came to Groton. 32
