I have Two actions that are not Settled which I Expected would have been. Therefore must Desire you'l be kind enough to Enter these actions & take care of them. I have Sent four dollars to pay Entry &c. The 2 actions are David Stockbridge Esqr. vs. Thomas Williams and same plant.— vs. Elijah Hall.1

I have here Enclosed the 2 notes one of the writs & the other is Served & returned. Whatever you think reasonable for Trouble &c. shall be paid. by yr. Huml. Servt.

Both cases were heard at the December court of Common Pleas at Plymouth. Each was for trespass on a note, and in each case judgment was for the plaintiff (Plymouth Court Records, 8:203).
