Robert Treat Paine Papers, Volume 2
I have wrote once & again relating to the Notes I have of you & out of mere complaisance to you neglected to send them till you should say you were ready as you proposed, but I hear nothing from you & the money I want much. I have therefore given them to Mr. James Brenton & hope you'll pay him the Money. You must be sensible that by not195paying the Money when I was there I am put to the expence of sending for it. I therefore think it reasonable you should pay the Interest wch. at least is but a Sum Sufficient to answer the Commission Insurance & freight, especially as I have been so patient. Hoping you are well I Subscribe yr. hble. servt.,
