Know all Men by these present that I Robert Treat Paine of Boston in the County of Suffolk and Province of the Massachusetts Bay Gentleman do hereby Constitute & appoint James Brenton of Newport in Colony of Rhode Island my attorney in my Name & Stead & to pray thee to appear at Halifax in the Province of Nova Scotia in all causes moved or to be moved for me to demand & receive all Sums of money debts dues & demands of any kind & any part of them due to me in the Province of Nova Scotia & to sue for the same & to prosecute such suits to final Judgt. and Execution and to give all needful acquittances & discharges for such debts & demands with power of substitution. In testimony hereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this blank day of Novr. 1760
