This is an in-person event hosted at the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation (154 Moody St, Waltham, MA 02453). There will be an in-person reception at 1:00 pm, followed by the ceremony at 2:00 pm.
Join us at the Charles River Museum for the awarding of the 2024 Peter J. Gomes Memorial Book Prize to Bruce Dorsey for his monograph, Murder in a Mill Town: Sex, Faith, and the Crime That Captivated a Nation, published in 2023 by Oxford University Press. The Peter J. Gomes Memorial Book Prize is given to the best nonfiction work on the history of Massachusetts published during the preceding year. The ceremony at the Charles River Museum will feature Bruce Dorsey in conversation with Jen Manion, Professor of History at Amherst College.
