[DESCRIPTION: Gauge to delineate the path of the sun, possibly for use with a globe (?). A small rectangle at the end of the "shadow line" was cut out along three sides and folded over along the fourth side. Not by Thomas Jefferson. Nichols gave the same number (N552) to two different drawings, each of which has its own "M" number (N552/M20 and N552/M25). See N552/M20.]
