[DESCRIPTION: Sketch for a circular stand with three shelves, including dimensions. This piece of furniture is probably what Jefferson called a "dumbwaiter." One was placed beside each chair in the dining room, and the various courses of the meal were placed on the shelves, when Jefferson wished to eliminate servants from the dining room for privacy.]
