Original manuscript from the Coolidge Collection of Thomas Jefferson Manuscripts, Massachusetts Historical Society. In a letter to his cousin and Richmond business agent, George Jefferson, Jr., Jefferson provided a small sketch to address a mix-up regarding chairs he had ordered. This is one of Jefferson's "letterpress" copies, which he made before sending by pressing a very thin tissue-like paper onto the original while the ink was still wet.
