*Gordon, the Mill-wright, sais where the workman is found & everything brought into place, he should make a double armed water-wheel for 12/ [/ symbol represents shilling.] the foot, & the cog-wheel for 15/ the foot in diameter, and the shaft and gudgeon supporters into the bargain. and a singlearmed waterwheel for 20/ the foot.
*mrs. Wythe puts 1/10 very rich superfine Malmesay to a dry Madeira and makes a fine wine.

sowed a patch of Early peas, & another of Marrow fats.

grafted 5. French chesnuts into two stocks of Common chesnut.
sent Patrick Morton the following slips of fruits from Sandy point.

3. Carnation cherry.
4. Duke cherry
5. forward pear
6. late do.
7. fine late large pear.
8. New-town pippins.
9. French chestnut.
10. English Mulberry.
11. Broadnax's cherry.
12. very fine late cherry.

both patches of peas up.
set out strawberries.

planted 50. vines of various kinds from the Forest.

sowed a patch of Early peas & another of Marrow-fats.

first patch of peas come to table. note this spring is remarkeably forward.
