    The endorsement (on page 2, attributed to William Cooper, clerk of Boston) identifies this paper with a British revenue stamp as "One of the Detestible Marks of Slavery...one of those that were taken at New York." A note in Jeremy Belknap's hand indicates that this paper was pulled and saved from a bundle burned in New York.
