    In this pamphlet, John Dickinson, a Philadelphia lawyer, expresses his views on colonial liberty and taxation in the wake of the passage of the Townshend Revenue Act in 1767. Initially published in newspapers, the letters were eventually gathered together and published as a pamphlet.
