He was condemned for not giving information of the Gunpowder Plot and was executed in the Old Palace Yard, Westminster, January 31, with Thomas Winter [or Wintour], Keyes, and Fawkes. Robert Winter, brother of Thomas, Edward Grant, Bates, and another had suffered the penalty on the 30th. Coldham Hall in Stanningfield, co. Suffolk, had been in the Rookewood family since 1357.
