Inclos'd you have a power from Mr. Gould1I took the same in yr. name as I knew I should not attend that Court & must beg the favour of you if there is no Exception to the Writ that you would appeal as Mr. Gould thinks he has been ill used by the plt. Joshua Mayhew if you do293not attend that Court pray you would Substitute some other Gentleman & not let a Judgmt. be obtained against the Deft. without an Appeal & whenever it lies in my power & you please to favour me with your Commands I will chearfully do you like or any other Service & am with Respect. Yr. Bror. & hume. Servt.
