THE GREAT MOLASSES FLOOD REVISITED

To mark the 100th anniversary of the Great Molasses Flood in Boston’s North End, Old South Meeting House and the MHS are presented a three-part series to explore the event and its repercussions from a variety of angles—misremembered histories, the changing relationship between government, labor, and big business, and the history of immigration in Boston. The series looks at this “surreal” disaster in a working-class and immigrant neighborhood, how it came to pass, and what has changed in its wake.
