n 1619, the first enslaved Africans arrived in English North America. To mark the 400th anniversary of this historic event, the Massachusetts Historical Society, Museum of African American History, and Roxbury Community College offer four programs to discuss the history of Africans and African Americans in the American past. Each program features leading scholars who will elaborate on a theme from the perspective of the 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.
