- I 894 ADAMS, Abigail (1744–1818). Wife of President John Adams and mother of President John Quincy Adams. A.L.S. ("Mother A Adams"), 1p. 4to, Apr. 29, n.y. To one of her sons. "Your Father is much disappointed in not being able to come to town today, and bringing you up with him. Your brother sent from dedham yesterday that he was sick, and desired to be sent for immediatly . . . Your Father wishes you to come out to day if you can get up." The initials "J.Q.A." as addressee, and the year "1811," have been added in another hand. Both of these annotations cannot be correct; for John Quincy Adams was at this time in Russia. $25.00
