Printed in Parker's General Advertiser between 16 Aug. and 26 Dec. 1782 as Nos. 1 through 10, "Letters from a Distinguished American," under false dates beginning with "Paris, Jan. 17, 1782"
ACC 10833. They were written, and will be published, under the dates [16 June–22 July 1780]. The final portions of the published reply, together with unpublished Nos. 11 and 12 (see slips that follow) were sent to Edmund Jenings in a letter of 22 July. See, JA, Diary and Autobiography, 3:88–89
