- Note: This is a transcript, marked for printing, in the hand of W. C. Ford and now among his papers in the MHS MSS. At upper left corner of p. 1 is a faint notation "MHS Misc.," and an old catalogue entry for this letter has been found, but the original is not in MHS Misc. MSS, and there is no telling the nature or provenance of Ford's source.
- JA attended the Mass. Council at Watertown this day. There can be little doubt of the authenticity of this letter.
