- True date is probably 4 Nov.; see JA to Mrs. Warren, 25 Nov., acknowledging a letter of 4 Nov. (RC not found). "Received several days ago." But Mercy's 7's look like 4's. JA could have made a mistake. See Mercy's letter of 7 April 1775 to JA. Mercy's 4's are distinct from her 7's
