This excerpt from John Rowe's diary includes a description of the battles of Lexington and Concord. Rowe was a moderate whose political views were chiefly influenced by his views and allegiances as a merchant. Rowe also mentions time spent with John Linzee, an English Naval Officer who would play a major role in the Battle of Gloucester only a few months later.
