My Deare,

I prayse God we came safe to Salem, though we had very stormy windes. We found all well. I doubt I shall not returne before the 2d daye next weeke and then my brother Peter will come with me. The Lord blesse thee and all our family, and send vs a happy meetinge. I kisse thee and rest thy faithfull husband

To her moste worthy sister mrs. margret winthrop this humbly present
Moste honored sister,

it is the least part of duty to return you humble thanks for spareinge vs my brothers companye. wee reade your sweet affections to vs in it, and the nobleness of your spirit and it hath aded much to our former deep ingagements, and had it pleasd god to haue giuen vs your presence allso, our Joyes had bine compleet.

I am much obliged to you for your great care of my boye I wish him or my self able to deserue it, but I desire if there be the least feare of ill, that he maye come right home.

I pray present my humble thanks to my brother. I was euer born to after witt, ells I should not haue parted with my brother without some refreshment for his Journie. I hope I shall haue more wit next time for it hath troubled me more then a little that I neclected it: but indeed I was confident of a day or 2 more. Your sister to seru you humble
