This Indenture made the One and Twentieth day of March 1642 In the Eighteenth yeare of the reigne of our Sovereigne Lord Charles by the Grace of God King of England Scotland France and Ireland defender of the faith etc. Betweene John Winthropp of New England in America in the parts beyond the Seas Gentleman (but now resident in the Citty of London) of the one part And Edward Parks Citizen and Merchanttaylor of London of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Winthropp for and in Consideracion of the summe of Two Hundred and Fifty Pounds of lawfull money of England to him before the ensealinge and delivery hereof well and truly satisfied and paid by the said Edward Parks Whereof and Wherewith the said John Winthropp acknowledgeth himselfe to bee fully satisfied and paid And thereof and of every part and parcell thereof Doth Heareby acquite and discharge the said Edward Parks his heires Executors and administrators and every of them by theis presents Hath graunted bargained and solde alyened enfeoffed and confirmed And by these presents Doth fully Heareby and absolutely graunte sell alyen enfeoff and confirme vnto the said Edward Parks his heires and assignes forever All those his Lands Meadowes Pastures Woods and Woodlands with their appurtenances lyinge and beinge in Toppesfeild within the parish and bounds of Ipswich in New England aforesaid in the parts beyond the Seas, Conteyninge by estimacion Three Hundred Acres bee they more or lesse And all the estate right title interest Revercion Revercions clayme and demaund whatsoever of the said John Winthropp of in and to the said Lands Meadowes Pastures Woods and Woodlands and of in and to every part and parcell thereof, To Have and to holde the said Lands Meadowes Pastures Woods and Woodlands with their and every of their appurtenances vnto the said Edward Parks his heires and assignes To the only vse and behoofe of the said Edward Parks his heires and assignes forever. And the said John Winthropp for himselfe his heires Executors and administrators and for every of them Doth Covenant promise and graunte to and with the said Edward Parks his heires and assignes by theis presents in forme followinge that is to say That hee the said John Winthropp now is and standeth lawfully rightfully and absolutely seised of and in Three Hundred Acres or above of Land Meadowe Pasture Wood and Woodland lyinge and beinge in the Hamlet Village or Place called Toppesfeild in the Parish of Ipswich in New England aforesaid, of a good sure absolute and indefeazable estate in the 371Lawe in fee simple To the only vse and behoofe of himselfe his heires and assignes for ever And that the said Edward Parks his heires and assignes shall or may to his and their owne proper vse and behoofe peaceablie and quietly enter into have holde occupye possesse and enioye all the said Lands Meadowes Pastures Woods and Woodlands and every part and parcell thereof without any lett trouble expulcion evicion or interrupcion of or by any other person or persons whatsoever And free cleare and clearely acquitted and discharged of and from all former and other guifts graunts bargaines sales leases estates Charge and encumbrances whatsoever And that hee the said John Winthropp and his heires and Elizabeth his wife and all other persons any thinge havinge or lawfully clayminge of in to or out of the said bargained premisses shall and will at all times hereafter vpon reasonable torn make and doe all and every such further and other lawfull and reasonable act and acts thinge and things for the further and better assuringe and conveyinge of the said Lands Meadowes Pastures Woods and Woodlands with the appurtenances and every part and parcell thereof to the said Edward Parks his heires and assignes As by the said Edward Parks his heires or assignes or his or their learned Counsell in the Law shalbe reasonably devised or advised In Witnes whereof the said partys to theis presente Indentures have herevnto interchangeably sett their hands and seales Given the day and yeare first above written

Know all men by these presents that whereas John Winthrop Junior of Boston in New England esqr. doth purpose at his retorne with all convenient speed to erect and build a worke for the making of Iron: and hath taken in divers Copartners for the advance and effecting thereof, whereas alsoe Nicholas Bond of the Citye of Westminster in the Countye of Middlesex 372esqr. hath before the sealing hereof delivered and payed vnto the said John the some of one hundreth pounds of lawfull monie of England to be imployed in the said Iron worke for the best benefitt and advantage of the said Nicholas Bond his executours administratours and assignees, which said some of one hundreth pounds, and all the benefitt advantage and encrease, that shall from tyme to tyme and at all tymes hereafter arise and growe, Wee the said John Winthrop Emanuell Downinge and Hugh Peter doe hereby for our selves our seuerall and respective executours and administratours promise and agree to be accomptable vnto the said Nicholas Bond his executours administratours and assignees for the same, according to the trew entent and meaninge of these presents, without fraude, Covenn or Collusion; witnes our hands and seales this 23d day of March Anno Domini 1642.
