London this 22th of Feb: 1639/40 Kind Sir,

Yours of the 12th of the 6 month I receiud with the inclosed to Mr. Tindall which I sent accordingly, also I receiud yours of a later date 201with a packet to Jo: Tinker which I likewise deliuerd to him, who is now an vndertaker in a ship bound to Conecticot but will touch at the bay first and land there some parte of her ladeinge (Deo assistante sic). this bearer Mr. Cuttinge I suppose is freighted wholy (or for the most parte) by Mr. Foxcrofte, the next will be Mr. Bab who will be redy about a month hence per whom I shall write to you againe and that I thinke wilbe at least a month before Jo: Tinker. we haue now greate hope of a parlament and we hartily desire your praiers vnto God to direct the heart of his maiesty and the house of parlament with one vnanimous consent to aime at Glory of God and saftie of this kingdome. the difference between his maiesty and the scots is not yet appeased I pray God put such an end to it as may be most for his Glory and the Good of both kingdomes. your frends at Groton are well as I vnderstand per Ben: Gostlin who was there lately. Thus haueinge not else to you at this time I commit you and all yours to the protection of the almighty and shall euer rest Your loving frend

Sir,

I doe retorne you manie thanks for your kynde letter of the 13th of this Instant, and doe blesse God for the continewance of health to you and yours, and doe much reioyce in this, that the lord hath enabled you with patience and chearfulnes to beare your burthen he knowes well what service you haue done for his people and Churches here. he hath promised requitall for a Cup of cold water given to any of his. I need not tell you of his riches, ability and faythfulnes in the performance of his word and promises to the 202meanest of his servants, nor of his trew and tender love vnto you, soe that I am assured he will repaire and fully repay all your losse, Costs and charges spent in his service. I pray be confident hereof and doe him that right, in being as chearfull and contented now, as when you had the world most at comand; and soe with pardon for my boldnes and faythfull service to my good sister and your selfe I rest Your assured loving brother whilest I am
