Honoured Sir,

I was at Ipswich this weeke to haue attended on you, but you were gone to the Court before I came.2 I humbly thanke you for your kinde purpose to haue seene our poore Towne. In regard of your many buisinesses, much company, and short time, I could not exspect such a fauour at this time. But God may afford some opportunity, when you may haue more freedome. The season yesterday, and this day, hath hindred my fixed resolutions of wayting on you, my body being not strong; especially since my sicknesse. Therfore I beseech you to excuse me and so with my seruice to your selfe, and the rest of our honoured Magistrates, I committ you to God, and rest at Your Commande

To our Noble Gouernour these present Boston
Honored Sir,

Synce my last I haue nothing to certifye you but what fell out the last day of the last weeke in our congregation at a church-meeting where Mr. Holgraue denying some thing that was cleere to the Congregation (hee being then dealt with) was suddenly struck by Gods hand with the losse of his memory, and such fumbling in his speech that wee were forced to send him forth, and at his house hee talked very idly slept, and is still weake but recouering: it did sadly affect vs all: The lord helpe vs to make vse of it to his praise.

I pray salute all our deerly beloued with you and bee pleased to tell this story to honest Mr. Wilson whom I salute in the lord.

My wife desires my daughter to send to Hanna that was her mayd, now at Charltowne to know if shee would dwell with vs, for truly wee are so destitute (hauing none but an Indian) that wee know not what to doe. Thus with my deerest respects I am Yours as you know in all duty
