William Hilles of Holton Hall, son of Peter and Parnell Hilles of Assington, co. Suffolk. He married Joane Browne, a sister of Mrs. Adam Winthrop, and his daughter Joane married Adam Winthrop, son of William Winthrop, half brother of the diarist. Muskett, 25, 102.

John Beriffe of Groton, buried July 5, 1602.

One of the name married Bridget Gosling of Groton, May 23, 1592. She died in 1620.

Of Groton, clothier, married (1) Alice _____ and (2) Jane Kedbie, widow. He died May, 1626. Muskett, 95.

Thomas Laster [or Laister] alias Hussinge, of St. Lawrence parish, Ipswich, scrivener. He was indicted at the Sessions, September 19, 1592, for not attending divine service. Ipswich Corporation Records. The diarist also terms him “cosen Layster.”
