Saturday, July 5, 1777

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker Paine, Col. Porter, Mr. Greenleaf, Mr. Davis and Capt. Stone be a Committee to confer with a Committee of the Honorable Board respecting the Commission of the Board of War. Sent up for Concurrence.

my dear, Taunton July 8 1777

Mr. Crocker is going So I have but a moment to write. Bob & Sally is Come home & naby & polly is at Brothers. Came this after noon. My dear Tommy has been very ill but is better. The pox did not take the first time So poor boy has to Stay Longer then the rest. Mrs. Joslin stays with him. Seth Came home Last week. I hope Tommy will be at home next week. All the folks due finly thats been to the pox’d house. Mrs. McWhorter is gone to See what the pox will do with her & Brigadier Godfrey. When are you a Coming home this Summer or next. I have Look’d for you but in vain. Give my Love to Mrs. Greenleaf & tell her I Should take it as a favour if She would buy me Six Bottles of rose water. My Love to all the folks in hast yours
