Paine, Eunice RTP
Germantown Decr: 6th 1769 Dear Brother,

By Mr. Greenleaf to Plymouth Court I have a safe conveyance so in hopes of meeting you there I thus address you. When you have had Leizure to think on me no doubt you've wonderd that you did not hear from me: I confess the negligence but writing is not Easy & agreeable to me, you obzerved to me some time since, I had lost my faculty. I find it true but I believe it is Partly because my inspiring Correspondents have somthing Else to do beside improving me, if you was to write me now & then a rousing Letter I shou'd not thus go to Sleep; do try the Experiment, Perhaps you might rejoyce in the Product. I think on you, & talk of you with as much pleasure as Ever I did, recollect the observations Ive heard you make, and rummage over the tokens of your remembrance in Days Past, & then please myself with the hope of having another one of these days when you feel sociable. Oh this ugly Law Business, do you wonder if I hate it? When it has Engross'd my advantages of having a Brother—if I cou'd but have a Neighbours Chance I shou'd rejoyce in it but you are moulding there at Taunton—oh dismal reflection I'll try to bury it with the recollection that you often visit Boston and I Shall be there soon for the winter, happy in the injoyment of my fair chamber? which you will Enliven sometimes? in absence of the Sun. I Enjoy so many of those Blest Beams here that I think of Town as a cavern. My visit here has been very agreeable but I durst not prolong it lest Snow shoud Shut up the Path way and I live by Gossiping you know. I have Copied out the accot. & Enclose it for your Inspection. Tis a huge Bill, it scares me but it may be reasonable for all that. I Shall be glad if youll let me know what you think about as soon as you Can Conveniently. Compliments to any Enquirers from your affectionate Sister,

EUNICE PAINE
