Abington Octr. 3d. 1769 Tuesday morng. Dear Brother,

I Cant forbear Saluting you from this place for mere good neighbourhood tho' I have nothing Particular to say. By my rovings I have lost your two Last visits to Town & was greatly disappointed that you did Smile on us at Germantown. The report of such an intention arrive'd on the Saturday, Why did you not Come? I hear your Rain Coat is finish't how does it do? Polly writes me that You'll be Obliged to hire a man to Carry it. I wonder where we shall meet next I want to See you free from all Encumbrances of whales &c.1 451

I have got Doct. Spragues account and want you to see and talk about it for it Stands against me from the Year 1754 and I have always imagind451you had Settled the account about 57 or 58. I want to See you and understand all about it before anything is said to him. Mr. Greenleaf is hurrying away so Dada Compliments to all Enquiring friends and have a Subject for you to write or talk oppertunity permits. I saw Mr. Adams Yesterday in his way from Weymouth to Boston Poor man he looks very week he is but Slowly recovering from a nervous fever but hopes to get to Taunton Court. Our other friends are so so. Dada in great haste I can only add that I am as Usual Your Affectionate,

Boston 5th. Octor. 1769 Sir,

I observe the Contents of yours of the 30th of last month to my uncle, and am glad the affare of the mine Farm is at last settled. Should be glad the remains of the companys affares was settled in like manner. I have Latly recd. Letter from Lewis Thomas & Find he is returnd, but at present unable to Sattisfie me & Deseirs my Further Forbarence hopeing in Time he will be able to sattisfie, as my present Surcumstances is such, obliges me to call upon all those Indebted, & should be glad you would see this man in order for a Settlement & what moneys he is Indebted, to give me Some Secuerity, his Joint Note with one or more persons payable in one two or three years, I Shal be Glad you would See him Immeaidatly upon the occason and pray your Speedy answer please to let him know that his person is not Safe before he Settles with me on the Terms as afors'd.

I Shall allso be Glad you would see Seth Baker who I sopose is at Swansey and Discorse him much in the Same manner. Could I obtaine a Settlement from Bothe these persons, in a Jointe Note of Two or three with Each, say sopose, the Sueritys was not worth much, it would give some sanktion to there Notes. Could you Effect this Bussiness for me & Soon say in a week or Two it would much oblige me, & it may be Neces-452sesary that you should have there accounts which at first Notice from you They Shall be Furnashed.
