Comets aside—the Business now is that Levi Willard & Wife are now in town, & purpose for Scituate on Fryday & purpose furthermore to take Eunice in the way & I too, & dine then, where your good Company we will intreat

to come & smoak & talk & eat.

I trust you'll make yr. appearance, & not disappoint the Expectations I have raised by promising it. I have told 'em how you look a long dry lank oldfashioned fellow like my self. I have promised to shew them the Man & Woman I love best in this World, a hopefull pair of you. You won't bear discribing & so you must shew yr. self.

Don't forget & if you can't read this carry it to Eunice who reads all the scrawls of

May 4th. 1757 Dear Eunice,

I expect to send this by Mr. Palmer with yr. Elix. Nerv. Dr. Sprague says it is good for you, & ask'd if you continued drinking Salt Water wch. he says will be very beneficial. I forgot to ask you wn. there, but if you can drink it I believe it will be best; I should have been with you before this but the Court adjourning to Fryday next I can't be sworn in till then, at wch. time I shall commence Lawyer.1 I have sued the Hingamites if they come to you send them to me. I should come on Saturday but I must take Physic for my Carcass require assistance. If you have seen Cranch's Letter2 to me about the Comet I by this oppertunity send an Answer. I left 18£ for you: you must get well quick. I think of Nothing else but that I am your pretty little Brother,

Mr. Robt. Treat Paine, I have recd. yours by Capt. Jones also the Power, but cant do anything with Leigh yet, but will keep a bright look oute. As to Hills Note it was my wives Mothers Property—so Would have you keep it—and assoon as a time presents get what you Can of it. As to Duglasses History I cant as yet find it but if I Can, I will Send Them. With respect to what you write me of my Uncles delivering those Two Chests to you I do remember it very well, but the Particular accot. is now oute of my mind. Pray Explain the person you mentioned you was to pay oute of his Effects and I will be more particular.

I have now opend Shop. Could sell those skins if I knew the price. Send me as particular account of the price of those things as you Can. I have begun and shall be obligd to New Sett the fence around the Lott—37 also make some part New. I shall be very glad if you would give me leave to lay oute about Four pounds to fix up Mr. Kents Room. He is moved and it wants it much. I have meet with near Twenty pounds loss with C. Jones, by Leggets Missing, but hope in time to retreave myself. Pray remember me to my Cousins—Mr. Palmer & Mr. Cranch—and tell Mr. Palmer I was so hurryd that I could not send him the accots. as he wanted—but will soon do it. Your Friend & humble Servt.,
