I Recd. yours1 just now by my Brother & should have been glad to have answered it but Friend Aaron by whom this comes is in haste.

Tell Thayer I am very willing that he should have an alias Excution2 & that as soon as may be if he will give his Security for the money to you first. Sending Divolls Oath would answer no purpose for the man that has the Execution in his possession must Swear that he has Rec'd nothing upon it. If he will send the Execution to me I will Send him an alias as soon as I can, but make him give you his Note or pay the money before I'll do anything about it. As to the Advertizt. your advertizt. is well but would it not be better if it Said by whom it is to be sold & also in whose possession it was. For it does not appear by whom the Place is advertized.

Quer: If one Indorses a Note to another with a full Indorsement & says for value Recd. pay the Contents of the within note &c. Now if the Indorser takes his Note back again can he sue it without mentioning the Indorsement. As to the Question in my last concerning the Indorsed Note I mean no more than this, that if the Promisee Indorses his note by writing his Name on it, can any one into whose Possession the Note comes Sue it in his Name & declare that the Promisee Indorsed it to him. Think upon these things & answer them at your leisure.

I hope Sr. if Time will permit you will send by the Bearer hereof those legal & political Curiosities you mentioned in your last.

I presented your Letter1 & what was therein contained to Amelia, for which she returns you her thanks, but at the same time was sorry that you put yourself to so much Cost & trouble for her. She express'd a great liking to your Letter & was very sensible that the embellishments of the Mind was infinitely preferable to any other.

You did not send me word whether you deigned to come up & tarry with me, send word, now & at any time when you have a mind to come. I'll send a horse for you. I am yr. hble., sert.
