Your severall favrs. of the 2d. & 18th. of Decr. and 10th. January Last1 I Received and Note the Contents.

The book Case pr. Capt. Brown came safe Except the Keys of the Draws.

Agreeable to yr. desire have closely apply'd to Docr. Chauncy to gett the mony due from Snoads Estate however its to Litle purpose he now putts mee of till the fall and If I dont Like to stay I may sue, and to tell you the truth I belive youle gett your mony soonest that way. I well Know if I was to sue it would be taken very Ill as I was Mr. Snoads friend and he appointed me one of his Execs. and putt great Confidence In me to serve his Estate.

I will do Justice on both sides. If I can gett it by feare means I will, butt as to going to Law I dont chose for the above Reasons. If you Incline to go to Law I would advise you to make Mr. Jerimiah Vaile the attorney and hele do your Business and upon yr. orders will deliver yr. papers. I will Enquire about Sheperds mony and If I can gett it shall ship it. You may depend Ile sene time If Can.

Mr. Steward3 and I parts the Next Month it not being agreeable to me to be In partnership any Longer. Mrs. Salter give her compliments to you and says that she Expects as you did not Come here this winter .you are Caught by some agreeable Lady. Yr. Most Humble. Svc.,
