Boston Decr. 2d. 1785 Dear Sr.,

I wish you to procure the inclosed Writ to be Served by Wm. Read by attaching a peice of Land of Durfees in Freetown & delivering a summons at Durfees house.

I have conversed with John Cunningham about the Order which Wheeler Peirce sold & endorsed to him, he remembers seeing a man who called himself Wheeler Peirce endorse the order & sold it to him & received the money but is not certain he should know him again if he should see him. I am not able to recollect the perticular matter which was expected to be proved by his Deposition & so I delay to take it till I can hear from You what is the point that labours to be proved, if you will write me speedily I will endeavour to get evidence that shall answer & bring it to yr. next Court. Hoping this will find you & yr. good Lady & family in health I rest yr. freind & hble. Servt.
