Know all Men by these Presents that I Robert Treat Paine of Taunton in the County of Bristol Esqr. am holden & stand firmly bound & obliged to David Cobb of said Taunton Physician of the Hospital erected for the Inoculation of the smallpox in said Taunton in the Sum of one hundred & twenty pounds to be paid to the said David Cobb on demand to which payment well & truly to be made I bind myself my Heirs Exrs. or Admrs. firmly by these presents sealed with my Seal dated the tenth day of June AD 1777.

The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if Abigail Greenleaf Robert Paine Sally Paine Thomas Paine Josselyn and Seth Burn who are this day to enter the Hospital aforsaid shall from time during their stay in said Hospital strictly and faithfully observe the Rules & Regulations of said Hospital & not depart therefrom unless permitted so to do by sd. Physician then this Obligation to be void & of none Effect otherwise to stand in full force & Vertue to the Amount of Twenty Pounds for each & every of said Persons who shall break the above Condition.
