I received the favor of your Letter a few days ago respecting the Howitzers. I should have answer’d it before this, but the exceeding hurry of my department has prevented. We shall this day cast some Brass Howitzers of 52 Inches and shall make some experiments, which I will Communicate to you. I’ve found many things in muller concerning the point blank distances to be very wrong. I thank you for the honor you Confer on me by asking my opinion and will in a few days answer it as well as my poor abilities will admit.
