Edmund Trowbridge (1709–1793) graduated from Harvard in 1728, and was admitted an attorney to the Superior Court in 1732. He practiced in Cambridge, which he represented in the legislature (1750–1752, 1755, 1763), and was later a member of the Council (1764–1766), where he supported Crown policy. He served as attorney general from 1749 to 1767 and as judge of the Superior Court from 1767 to 1775 (Sibley's Harvard Graduates, 8:507–520).
