Salter, Malachy RTP
Halifax Sept. 8. 1759 Sr.,

Since you left this place, Mrs. Freeman (or rather Mrs. Pool1) has let 2 rooms in the house at 1/ per week each, & says she has recd. the rent, wch. she is ready to pay on demand.

Mr. Monk has lately made an offer for the house, & has desired I would write you on the Subject, he says he will give £50 that he will pay £20. down, & the remainder the 1st. January.

I think this worth more, and am confident, that if a fleet, & any considerable Number of Troops arrive home from Canada this fall, it will sell for half as much more, however you'll please to advise me what answer to give him, & in case you sell the house, whether you purpose to make any provision for Mrs. Pool & her child, as she is afraid of being turn'd out of doors, wch. would be terrible, as she is far advanced in her Pregnancy, & not able to support herself & children without some assistance. I am in hast Sr. your most humbl. Servt.

MALACHY SALTER

P.S. Why did you not leave Orders with me to recieve the money due from Nuttage for rent.
