I herewith send you the Deed for Mr. Wenman.1 You'll please to get the money & deliver it to Capt. Jones & he in his great Kindness will charge but half pr. ct. for bringing it to Boston . Dont forget to take up the old Deed & Power. You'll please to have an Eye to Belcher2 & do not let him Slip next Court. I left Josias Nuttage Junr.3 Note with you which I trust youll get soon. I send yr. Receipt for the Note, which may be endorsed on the back when you have paid Jones or destroyed & another Receipt given for Belcher & Nuttages notes. My Compliments to yr. Lady & wishing you Success in all yr. Undertakings & health and happiness I subscribe &c.,

Richard Wenman (ca. 1711–1781) immigrated to Nova Scotia in 1749 with the first settlers of Halifax. With his wife, became manager of the orphan home there. Later served as a justice of the peace, member of the House of Assembly, and a captain in the militia. By 1776 he was one of the wealthiest landowners in Halifax (DCB).
