Bath Town March 9 1752 Mr. Abra: Sheppard junr.,

I write this Letter concluding you will be at the Gen'rall Court. What I have to say to you is that the Note of Hand you Endors'd to me of John Lane's was refus'd, consequently I must return to the Endorser for my Money. I am Again come into the Country & want the Money much & pray that you would pay it without farther Trouble. I shall send the Note to Joseph Balch Esqr. with wm. you may transact the Business. Yr. original Note was for £12.9.11 Proc. wch. is not equall to the value of 55 Galls. of W. India Rum, therefore you must Satisfye Mr. Balch for his Trouble of transacting the Business, & if then you'll pay yr. original Note I'll excuse the charge of my Journey to yr. House. Pray Consider I've lain out of my Money a Long time & that the Law is chargeable. No More I rest yr. Freind & humble Servt.,
