The Papers of John Adams was composed on the Linotype by the Harvard University Printing Office. Rudolph Ruzicka's Fairfield Medium, with several variant characters designed expressly for The Adams Papers, is used throughout. The text is set in the eleven-point size and the lines are spaced one and one-half points. The text was printed by Halliday Lithograph Corporation and bound by them in Buckram made by the Holliston Mills, Inc. The paper, made by the Mohawk Paper Mills, is a grade named Superfine. The books were originally designed by P. J. Conkwright and Burton L. Stratton.
