My Dearest Friend
You will see the answer to the Governours Speach from the Senate. It is truly Federel. I am told that the answer of the House which I have not yet seen, is quite as much so, and would have been more full, but for Jarvis who had interest sufficient to get some of the best part expunged. It past the House unanimously.When it was presented to the Governour he declared appeard much agitated, and said he hoped the House did not think that he meant to Dictate to them, but it has disgusted the Rep's so much that tis said he will, as he predicted never have the opportunity of speaking to them gain. Parson Osgood who was in the house at the Time the Speach was deliverd, when the G. came to that part he rose and spoke loud enough to be heard by those around him. "And I pray God you never may."
Be so good as to send me an other porcupine. I have sent that to our son by my old Friend Captain Barnard who sails tomorrow.
I wish if you can that you would pay Brisler 20 Dollars and take his Acct in full to the
