Letter from Abigail Adams to John Adams, 9 January 1795, "Inclosed is a Letter . . ."

Inclosed is a Letter from Mrs Brisler. I wrote last Week desiring him to get me some more flower in March. I have thought since if Ames was in Philadelphia Whether he had not better send 2 Barrels by him the next time he sails as there may not be more risk now than in March. I have sent one of the Barrels You sent me to Your Mother as a New Years Token of Remembrance from you. Grain is so excessive  [illegible dear that I thought this a a Duty encumbent upon us, as well as some other things which I have Done hoping and indeed being assured of your Approbation. I carried the old Lady abroad twice last Week to visit at Major Millars and Mrs. Veseys. She was much gratified. She spent the day, yesterday here, and reminded me it was that Day Year she was taken sick. Her health is as good as can be expected at her age.

Yours as ever
