This carved wooden sign features the Royal Arms of Great Britain and is said to be from the front balcony of the Old Province House, Boston. Also believed to be the arms that Deshon originally carved for the Massachusetts General Assembly room, circa 1750. The original sign consisted of three vertical panels, upon which were affixed the Royal Arms, which appear to be carved from one piece of wood. The whole was finished with an elaborately carved frame having mitered corners and mounted on three horizontal planks of wood using hand-forged nails.
