    In this deposition, Mary Mountire of Boston gives her testimony regarding her ownership of two enslaved people named Kent and Sambo. The document is damaged and some pieces have been torn off. The deposition is signed by Samuel Adams, the father of the well-known patriot of the same name. Samuel Adams, Sr. (1689-1748) was a brewer and deacon of the Old South Church in Boston and served at various times as justice of the peace, town selectman, and representative to the General Court from Boston.
