In this brief letter from Aaron Burr to William Eustis, Burr provides voting return results for New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The election was held from 31 October to 3 December 1800 and these figures represent the most up-to-date tallies for each respective state for the Thomas Jefferson/Aaron Burr and Charles C. Pinckney/John Adams tickets. Burr informs Eustis he has heard that polling in Charleston, South Carolina would proceed "inch by inch" in that state's tight race.
