This portrait of Eunice Diman, wife of Thomas Mason, Jr. and subsequently Captain Jonathan Haraden, was completed by Benjamin Blyth (1746-1787?) about 1774.
Eunice Diman was born in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1752. She was the daughter of Rev. James and Mary (Orne) Diman. She married Thomas Mason, Jr., in 1774. As a widow, she married, as a second wife, Captain Jonathan Haraden, a distinguished naval commander and privateer in the American Revolution, in 1782. Eunice Diman died in Salem in 1796.
