This portrait of Lucretia Greene Callahan, wife of Captain John Callahan, was completed by an unknown artist.

Lucretia Greene Callahan was born in Boston 1748. She married Captain John Callahan in 1774 and made many voyages with him. Their seven children were born in different parts of the world. A digest of letters she wrote to her sister Sally in Boston from 1776 to 1778 is in the collections of the Massachusetts Historical Society. Lucretia Callahan died in 1824.
