Nov. 24th. [1775] This day Permission was given for Inn-
-oculation of the Small-Pox.

30. [November 1775] Provisions and Fuel have been extreme-
-ly scarce and high for some Weeks past;
Wood selling for £25 O.T. the Cord-- Coal
(Newcastle) £36 O.T. -- Charcoal 50/ O. T.
Sheep £3 sterl'g, Hogs at the rate of 1/6
sterl'g alive, Geese a Guinea per Pair;
Fowls 5/ sterl'g a Piece, Cheese 1/ sterl'g lb,
Butter 2/ sterl'g -- every thing in like propor'n.

Dec. 3d. [1775] It is currently reported to day that the
Provincials having taken St. John's Fort
had set down before Quebeck, which
it was thought must surrender; and that
they have taken an Ordonance Brig
having on board the largest Mortars
in England, Shells, Carcasses, Powder
and all kinds of Ammunition.

4th. [December 1775] The Provincials having thrown up Ground
upon an Emminence about half a Musk-
-et Shot to the Eastward of Phips's Farm
last Week, did on Saturday the same at
the latter; in Opposition to which the regu-
-lars have begun a Battery just above
the Copper-Works at the west part of the
Town.

7th. [December 1775] This day a Provincial-Privateer Brig was
brought in by 2 King's Ships: having 75 Men
on board and 10 Guns.
