[1775] A Vessell or so now
and then drops in
with Cattle, etc: bought a quarter of one
to day which will make the first fresh
Provision in the family since my Mamma,
etc., went out.
5th. [September 1775]
Cattle, Sheep, Hogs, etc., which were
brought
from
Quebeck and
N. Scotia have
been
selling two days past: out of which my Fa-
-ther bought two Oxen.
15. [September 1775] A
secret Rumour in Town of News circu-
lating in the Country that publick
Matters
tend towards an Accommodation.
Happy should it prove so!
17. [September 1775] This
day Dr. Cooper's
Meeting-House was
open'd for one Morrison a Deserter from
the Provincials, who was dismissed a few
Years since from
Peterboro in N.
Hampshire
on Account of Misdemeanours, etc.,
at which the Scotch people chiefly attended.
22d. [September 1775]
Several Balls came into town to day as for the Week past at times
from
the Works at
Roxbury, which did some damage:
many of them passing just by the Hay-
Market: mostly 18 Pound Shot.
26. [September 1775 ]This
day arrived the Cerberus, which carried home
an Account of the
17th June; and brings for news
that more troops were shipt for
N. America.
30. [September 1775]
General Gage it is said has engaged
a Trans-
-port to carry him to
England.
