To gratify the curiosity of some, and to please
the taste of all who are fond of composi-
tions of genius, as well as to shew in a striking
light the high strain of Irony, which a little while
since had imposed on the discernment of the late
Orator of the Fifth of March, and the Committee
as though meant in earnest and founded in fact ;
together with Extracts from an elegant Manuscript
by the same hand, where he proceeds on true
principles, where he speaks his own sentiments,
and those of every one who impartially exer-
cise their understandings. This direct contrast,
earnest opposed to jest, and fact to falsity, we now
