27 [July 1776] we Sot Sail again but
wind faild & we Dropd anker
till after Noon then sot out again
& went 60 or 70 miles by night
28 [July 1776] S. Day we came to ye mouth
of hell gate Lay at anker
all Night 29 [July 1776] went through
to york Lay at anker till
toards Night then returnd
to hell gate and Landed
there 30 [July 1776] ye Col. orders was
that No Soldier went Eigh
